Well it’s not shock here that the first four of the best selling books 2008 are all written by Stephenie Meyer! Some of you may not know that her books started out as logs of her dreams and although they are all based on vampires and warewolves she is not a fan of such things. For Stephenie Meyer she watched her dream logs turn into books, then into teen or tween books and movies, and then finally into books and movies that everyone was reading. What an exciting year it was for her, and from what I hear there is more to come!

Although I was a little sad to see that J.K. Rowling was all the way down on number 8 this year it’s not that surprising considering that her Harry Potter series is all but over and that leaves us all a little sad.

I was very surprised to find that the new best selling books are all books that I have read and that is not something that I have seen in previous years. In 2007 there was only one book on the list that I had read. Of course when you see a line-up of top best selling books that include writers like Stephenie Meyer, Eckhart Toole, William Young, Randy Pausch, Jeffrey Zaslow, J.K. Rowling, Christopher Paolini and John Grisham you know that it was a good year for books and that we are all sitting around impatiently waiting to see what they are going to come up with next!

What are these librarian books that people usually look out for? Well, is this the question that you usually think about? Is so, then you’ll find what you need right here. Generally the term librarian is used for a professional library worker. In most cases, a librarian holds at least a Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited library school. He or she may have additional degrees.

But I call librarian to the person who has the information about various books and know how to organize them well and if you ask him can retrieve the required book without wasting much time. If you are someone who has special collection of rare books then as per my definition you are a librarian; may be in your own house!

So if you have inclination towards collecting good books then I would like to discuss with you about some good librarians books, which are worth keeping. The quality of librarian books is their content. I am working as a librarian in one of the renowned library of US and have good knowledge about both books for librarians and books about librarians.

If you really are a good collector of books then you would know that you should be able to provide a truly viable alternative to people who yearn for good books, but won’t buy them (you can rent these books and earn some pocket money). ‘Going Rogue-An American Life’, the memoir written up by the Republican Former Governor Sarah Palin just shot up to the top of the US bestseller charts. The book released just a week earlier has topped the charts with great inspiring figures.

Surprisingly, the book has almost half a million copies already sold out, and has crossed over the other blockbuster books written by writers like Stephen King and James Patterson to become a best seller. The book is still grossing higher amounts and will achieve a new level, with its current magic. According to Nielsen BookScan, the book has become the highest selling book in the recent week.

Palin contested for the post of a vice-president last year on the losing ticket of John McCain and is looked up as a potential Republican Presidential Contender in the future times. Palin launched her book on the November 16^th and got it published by HarperCollins, amidst a number of several media appearances and a book tour in the style of a political campaign.

She gained immense attention during her appearance on the Oprah Winfrey show, which thus contributed immensely for the publicity of the book and her political life. However, although her electability stays a much disputable topic, she does perfectly well in the field of book writing against the various other heavyweight writers in the Washington.

The sale stats of the book shows the book selling about 469,000 copies in the first week, slightly less than the memoir written by Former president of America, Bill Clinton. “Going Rogue- An American Life”, thumps the overall performance of President Barack Obama’s book “Audacity of Hope” that sold about 67,000 copies a week after its publication.

The book comes up as the writing about racing for the White House in the year 2012. Adding her view, she was heard saying, “That certainly isn’t on my radar screen right now, but when you consider some of the ordinary-turning-into-extraordinary events that have happened in my life, I am not one to predict what will happen in a few years”. Although she said that she was ready to take up the lead, “if the people will have me.”
